Ah, kids are so adorable sometimes. Today has definitely been one of those times. Though I really wanted to go to Boise for the holidays, we had a really nice, fun, relaxing time here at home. It's been nice to watch the boys play with their new toys and to be able to interact with them more because I'm not a mess, wishing I was somewhere that I can not be.
As I was putting the boys down for bed, our oldest was teasing me and saying, "Mama, you're a mother! No, you're a boy! I'm a Mama!" He sounded so cute saying it. He just knew he was hilarious, which of course then made it so. And our youngest, who just turned 18 months, decided to pour himself a cup of rice milk and looked thoroughly surprised when it spilled all over the table. "Hey, it doesn't do that when Mama pours it!" He looked so taken aback when it happened that I just laughed and helped him clean it up.
Sigh. This is one of those days when you are glad to be a mother. Which is good because two days ago I about throttled the 18 month old when he took four hours to go to sleep. AAAGGHH! At least he was cute about it, but, man did it ruin my night. Fortunately for everyone involved, the good and bad days are usually somewhat interspersed.
Gluby is the best! I have wanted to learn how to belly dance since I was 20 and have mentioned this off and on for the last year. I told him once again how I wish I could take a belly dancing class after having talked with a friend whose gym offers different dance/exercise classes where belly dancing is one of them. (Gasp! That was a long sentence.) I thought nothing of it until later when he mentioned that I would be getting a surprise in the mail soon. Well, I am not patient when it comes to surprises so I tortured it out of him. He bought a belly dancing DVD for me for Christmas (which is huge because he is such a grinch). It arrived a few days ago and I have been doing it almost daily. It came with a CD full of belly dancing music which I love. It's calming yet invigorating.
Anyway, if you ladies out there think going from garments to panties is sexy, you should try belly dancing. Whoa. And it'll drive your man crazy! Trust me.

Ha ha ha. I'm guessing my man would actually laugh if I tried belly dancing in front of him. I'm seriously afraid to try it.
Aww..that is so sweet! I have been wanting to try that also. A friend of mine has a belly dancing DVD also and loves it. Sounds like it would get you in the mood too! LOL
And, yes...kids can be so damn cute sometimes. It makes up for the crazy days!
I am Michelle, by the way. I came across your blog through a friend's blog and think it's great. I SO loved your panty post! Hope you don't mind me reading!
My kids use that same trick of saying the most adorable things to help me forget how much work they are... ;-)
Belly dancing sounds like great fun!!!
Some of the regulars on exmo-social are into belly dancing. I don't know if it would be reasonable to expect that you might know them since I'm not sure how small a world the exmo belly dancing community is... ;-)
SML - Dance for yourself! It's great exercise and it makes you feel powerfully feminine.
Michelle - I looked at your sight and your girls are adorable! I love their hair color. I always wanted mine to look like that.
CLH - I didn't believe the old adage to be true, but now I believe it. "If they weren't so cute they'd be dead by now." Our oldest wasn't too bad until 2 1/2 and then I started doing a lot of breathing while closing my eyes and chanting, "It's almost time for bed" over and over.
Considering that I have never been to the exmo-social site I doubt that I do, but I think I'll mosey on over and take a look. Thanks!
A dear friend of mine (Lynn) and her daughter (Jennifer) both belly-dance. They are fantastic. Lynn has even made her own costumes. When I last saw her in the fall in Utah, she showed me her newest addition to the costume: a platinum blonde wig. She looked amazing!
I think belly-dancing is sexy. I've never done it, but I've always enjoyed watching it.
By the way, I just wanted to concur on an extremely important point you made. I agree wholly that Gluby is the best.
I was directed over here by CLH! Thanks! I am one of those exmo-social belly dancers, and I always love to hear about someone new taking it up! I started belly dancing with my mom and we both love it! Incidently, she is mormon and she wants me to come teach a class to her R.S. ladies! Eeek! Anways, I loved reading your blog, especially about the belly dancing! Keep it up, and take that class! A DVD is no substitute for a live teacher. :)
